Andrew Carlone, M.D. Orthopedic Surgeon Hip & Knee Specialist

Dr. Carlone is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon in Dalton, Georgia specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery, including primary and revision joint replacement. His philosophy in practicing medicine is simple: treat every patient like a member of his family. He believes that each patient requires individualized care and provides his patients with up-to-date, evidence based operative and non-operative treatments.

Dr. Carlone has specialty training in:

- Complex primary total hip and knee replacement- Revision total hip and knee replacement- Outpatient total hip and knee replacement- Direct anterior total hip replacement- Partial knee replacement

Education and Professional Accreditation Dr. Carlone completed his undergraduate education at Emory University, majoring in Neuroscience and Chemistry. He earned his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then completed his five-year orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kentucky where he gained a particular interest in hip and knee replacement. He then pursued a fellowship at Indiana University gaining further subspecialty training in complex and revision joint replacement surgery. During his fellowship, Dr. Carlone trained with some of the nation’s leading experts in outpatient and revision joint replacement.

Dr. Carlone is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society (AOA).

Personal life Born and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Dr. Carlone always planned to practice medicine in his home state. Outside of his time taking care of patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, hiking, fishing, and watching the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves. Dr. Carlone also enjoys playing various musical instruments and has played with several bands since he was eight years old.

Dr. Carlone is dedicated to his patients by providing individualized and compassionate care to help them return to a pain free and improved quality of life.
